・Wheelchair-accessible seats are available on most of the Shinkansen and limited express trains on the conventional lines. For the usage of wheel-chair accessible seats, please make a reservation at any JR Ticket Office (Midori-no-madoguchi), from 10:00 am daily, for up to one month in advance before travel. However, you will not be allowed to board the train that you want to get on, in cases such as when wheelchair-accessible seats are full, etc.
・Wheelchairs are required to meet certain conditions concerning size and other characteristics. Power wheelchairs equipped with steering wheels are not generally permitted, although they may be used when certain conditions are satisfied.
